Apply for Membership
Membership of the MHCA is available to organisations only. There are two categories of membership, Full and Associate.
Full membership is restricted to organisations operating at a national level with a primary mission, purpose and or interest in mental health. National level is defined in Part 1 of the MHCA Constitution as “an organisation operating in at least four (4) states or territories or an organisation whose work is deemed by the Board to have a significant impact at a national level.”
Associate membership is for non-national organisations and/or organisations whose primary focus may not be mental health but who are looking to stay informed on the activities of the MHCA and access the MHCA’s many resources.
All membership applications made to the MHCA are reviewed against the appropriate criteria by the MHCA Board of Directors. You will be notified as soon as possible of the outcome, and if your application has been approved, you will be invited to pay your fees to become an active member of the Council.

About Member Benefits
Ask A Librarian
The MHCA has linked with ADCA’s National Resource Centre librarian service to provide Ask A Librarian – an online service that can assist you to find information about alcohol and other drugs research, policy, treatment, mental health or the AOD sector.
This is a reference service.
The sorts of questions that can be answered are brief questions requiring a factual answer; broader questions requiring resources to be identified; and questions answerable from the library's internal resources or from the Internet. Some libraries offer a full research service that can provide more wider ranging answers - you may be referred to one of these.
Member Mailing List
The MHCA Members list is a 'closed' mailing list. The MHCA will only subscribe individuals nominated to represent their organisation as determined by the MHCA. The mailing list is a secure, moderated email list which is used for announcements and information sharing. Members of the MHCA can use the list to share information with all other members of the MHCA.
Media Monitoring
