The MHCA is pleased to announce that it will be continuing to provide limited financial assistance to support conferences that have a theme on mental health or suicide prevention under its new Mental Health Conference Funding Program. This program has been made possible through the funding provided by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA).
There will be five funding rounds held over the next two years for organisation’s looking for financial assistance to run relevantly themed conferences (up to and including 28 February 2010). Specifically, the conference funds have been designed to ensure a strong consumer/carer presence and voice at these conferences and events. There are a number of guidelines for the funding which can be accessed here with the application form available for completion here.
Applications for the next funding round will be closing on 31 July 2009. Organisations considering submitting an application in this round should note that applications will only be considered for conferences/events being held between 1 August 2009 and 30 November 2009. Conferences being held after this time will be eligible for funding in the following rounds.
